Fiction Comprehension
Helping Ohio Students With Literature Structure And Reading Comprehension
Fiction Comprehension
Richards Learning Systems® helps learners develop an understanding of the framework or skeletal structure of fiction. Simple and complex fiction becomes meaningful to students. The learner travels step-by-step through the structure of literature and gains the ability to identify:
- Setting
- Characters
- Conflict (Protagonist/Antagonist)
- Rising Action/Event Sequence
- Climax
- Open/Closed plot
- Story meaning
Who Can We Help?
Often students with learning disabilities, developmental delays, Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, or PDD-nos struggle with reading comprehension. They don’t see the story structure and also cannot make inferences about a fictional story. RLS helps resolve these weaknesses in reading.
“[My son’s] grades have not been this good in at least two school years in reading. Ann-Marie is extremely professional and works well with [him]. I am blessed to have her working with my son.”
