Northeast Ohio Recreational Opportunities for the Mentally and Physically Challenged

A few months ago, North Coast Education Services participated in the Connecting for Kids 5th annual Meet and Greet event. We had a wonderful time mingling with families and fellow organization committed to help struggling students succeed.

While we were there, we learned about a fantastic organization:

Special Stars of the North Coast

a recreational group for the mentally and physically challenged

Based near Cleveland, OH, the non-profit organization provides year-round activities for members of all ages. Here are some of their activities:

Bowling League (September – April)
Family Bowling
Bowling Banquet
Swimming
Theatrical Plays
Lake Erie Crushers Games
Lake Erie Monsters Games
Steppin’ Out Concert
Raisin’ Canes & Dance
Halloween Parties
Christmas Parties

Annual dues for the organization are only $1 and most of the events are free. Special Stars strives to “keep the price low and the fun high”. The non-profit posts their latest events and activities on their personal Facebook group page.

For more information about joining Special Stars of the North Coast, please contact Linda Manos at (440) 779-6227, or email Special.Stars@hotmail.com.
