Seeking a Student Volunteer for Summer 2017 Lakeland Classes

Are you a college student seeking a rewarding volunteer opportunity for Summer 2017?  You have come to the right place!  North Coast Education Services is seeking a student volunteer to assist with our summer reading and math courses at Lakeland Community College.

Minimum Requirements:


• Current college-level student pursuing a degree in education or a similar field
• Current BCI and FBI background checks (or be willing to obtain both)
• Must be creative, flexible, sensitive, and dependable

Volunteer Responsibilities:

The student volunteer will assist the primary instructors for our multi-sensory reading and math courses. The volunteer will rotate between groups based on the needs of the individual classes, but should be comfortable working with all students grades K – 12. Specific responsibilities include assisting with classroom management, tracking paperwork, and any other supplemental help the class may need.

Upon successful completion of the summer program, NCES will provide a reference letter for the student’s portfolio.

 

Volunteer Schedule:

Thursdays evenings from 5:15 pm – 9:45 pm. Classes begin June 15th and end on August 10th.
