A Little Love Goes a Long Way

Every person in the world – no matter their age, race, religion, gender, sexuality, or income — has the right to a quality education.  Sadly, for some people, that right is not that simple.

According to a 2013 article by Education Week, “1.8 million young adults ages 16-21 are neither enrolled in school nor have completed a high school education.”  While the study admits the number has come down in recent years, it is still disheartening to know that so many young adults do not have a high school diploma.

Imagine if there was a way you could help give the gift of a quality education to those in need.  Wouldn’t you feel so wonderful knowing you were helping to spread the wealth of knowledge to others?  And wouldn’t it be great if there was a way that you could give to others by doing what you already do?

Guess what?  There is!

AmazonSmile is a wonderful, simple way for you to support your favorite charities.  Every time you shop online at Amazon, just make sure you do it through AmazonSmile.  The website will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible purchases to the 501(c)(3) charity of your choice.

The best part is that you do not have to buy anything special.  Go to smile.amazon.com and buy that dress you’ve had your eye on, tools for your husband, cookbooks for your mother, and toys for the kids.  Order your favorite DVDs, textbooks, and presents for the holidays.  You can even keep your current Amazon account.  All of your lists and registries will transfer over when you log on to AmazonSmile.

Remember…Mother’s Day is May 10th!

North Coast Education Services has supported the Creative Education Institute (CEI) since it was founded in 1992 by President and Executive Director – Carole Richards.  The mission of the Creative Education Institute is to affect change through improved literacy.  The charity, through the generosity of its sponsors, is able to provide scholarships and low-cost tutoring services for children and adults who would otherwise be unable to afford them.

The Creative Education Institute also operates the annual Academic Fun & Fitness Camp. (Click here to read all about Camp 2015!)  The camp, which is for children ages 6 to 19, is designed specifically for kids with learning differences and special needs – including Autism (ASD), ADD/ADHD, Asperger’s and Dyslexia, among others.  Children not only learn valuable math and literacy skills through multi-sensory learning, but they also get exposure to computers, music, science, sports, and theater arts.  In addition, they are given the opportunity to interact with other kids in a safe, non-threatening environment.

In today’s modern world, it has never been easier to donate to your favorite charities.  Thanks to AmazonSmile, you can even make donations by simply purchasing everyday items.  Simply go to http://smile.amazon.com/ch/34-1731515 and select “Creative Education Institute Inc” as your charitable organization.  Then, make your online purchases as normal.  Every time you make a purchase on AmazonSmile, they will donate 0.5% of the proceeds to the Creative Education Institute.  It is that easy!  Your contributions provide educational opportunities to both children and adults.  Even a small donation can mean a wealth of opportunities for an individual in need.

Thank you for your consideration!
