At North Coast Tutoring Services, we believe that every child learns differently, and that every child CAN learn. Our goal is to present school material in a style that complements the individual learning style of each child.

When parents elect home schooling for their child, the parent becomes the teacher. Although many parents make excellent teachers, often they have not experienced the learning process from the teachers’ perspective. The role of NCES is to support the parent as a consultant, advisor, guide, or aide.

Often, NCES tutors help parents with school issues, text selection, curriculum support, skills assessments, and time management. NCES will help design a program for each parent for each school year. We can provide weekly sessions to teach difficult concepts and to help monitor and maintain progress, and to attend school conferences. Year-end school reports and documentation are an integral part of the process.

High School Diploma Program

NCES will connect home school parents with a diploma program that grants course credits and diplomas upon successful completion of graduation requirements.

Workshops

To support the parent who struggles with reading instruction, RICHARDS READ Systematic Language training workshops are held several times during the year. These are recommended for parents whose children struggle with reading for any reason. Contact the Director of Student Services for information about upcoming workshops.
